Even better

I was looking at my referral logs and found that the Ptarmigan is the #8 site that is listed on a Yahoo search for "burst blood vessal in the eye". That's top notch.

Getting famous

I don't want to brag, but the Ptarmigan is the fourth site returned on a Google search for "Complimentary Nachos". I'm sure traffic is going to take off now.

An inundation of pictures

I finally found the time to upload the pictures from the Keeney wedding. Broken into six categories:

The Girls Weekend
The Red Sox Game
The Wedding Weekend
The Rehearsal
The Wedding
The Baseball Hall of Fame

We love you, Denver!

I probably shouldn't post this online due to theft concerns, but the next time I form a rock band I'm going to name it Complimentary Nachos©®™.
(Thanks to Jumin for suggesting the symbols. I'm sure it's fully protected now)

East Coast Adventure

We're back from the Keeney wedding tired and in need of a vacation. It was somewhat nice to get back home, just so I could get some rest. My trip started with a long weekend in Old Saybrook, CT where Tracy's family has a house on the coast. Six of us made the trip down and spent the weekend playing golf, drinking beer, and watching baseball. Meanwhile, Deanna and the girls were going crazy in Stowe, VT. As much as I'd like to pass on some hijinks from our weekend excursion, nothing real noteworthy happened. We're getting old. We met back up with the girls on Memorial Day in time to grab some dinner and head to Fenway for a game. Just our luck, the Sox got smoked. Sitting out in the bleachers was definitely an experience though. After staying in a suite at the Sheraton on Monday night (thanks Shiff!), Deanna and I took a little drive through northern New England. We had lunch in Kennebunkport, ME (delicious chowder) and made our way up to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. On Wednesday, we visited the "Lost River Gorge" and made our way over to the Ben and Jerry's factory in Vermont. After a lot of ice cream, we made the long drive over to Cortland to meet up with everyone else.

Thursday morning was the much anticipated wine tour. The tour started quietly with a 45 min "party" bus ride to the first winery. After getting 3 or 4 tastes at the first winery, I was beginning to think the tour was going to be a bust. However, at the third winery, things began to take a turn. Jumin, Coulter, Erin, and I happened to be served by the owner of the winery and he was happy to let us try pretty much everything they made. He started mixing wines and cordials and just kept pouring. By the time we headed off to the next stop, we had the keroke fired up on the bus and everyone was having a blast. Two more wineries, a grocery stop, and lots of singing and dancing later, we made it back to the condos for dinner and sleep. All in all, it was a great idea and a lot of fun.

On Friday, a group of us ventured into Cortland for lunch at A&W and a round of mini-golf next door. I ended up tied with Rick for lowest score due to a crazy 18th hole that allowed Rick to drop two stokes off of his score. If we are ever in Cortland again for any reason, a rematch will be in order. The rehearsal was held at the lake on Friday afternoon followed by a BBQ at the Keeney's house. The food (and home brew) was fantastic and a good time was had by all.

Saturday was wedding day. Tracy and the guys from the wedding party (I forgot to mention that I was a co-best man) drove up to Syracuse to eat at a place that Keeney and the boys used to eat at growing up. Good food but bad idea as it ripped me up for the rest of the day and evening. The wedding was beautiful and the weather cooperated perfectly. The reception was great and my speech went surprisingly well considering I didn't write anything down and just had to sort of wing it (typical). Shiffer also gave a great speech that was much better thought out than mine. At the end of the reception, Tracy and Abbey headed off to their bungalow while the rest of us crowded into one of the condos and continued the party.

On Sunday, we had to drive back to Boston to catch a 9:45 PM flight. On the way, we stopped by the Baseball Hall of Fame with John and Cassie to see the Red Sox World Series Champions display. I mostly wanted to see the Shilling bloody sock and it didn't disappoint. We made it to the airport and home without incident and are now trying to catch up on school, work, and sleep.
We had a great time on the trip and the wedding was perfect. The best part was seeing some friends that we hadn't seen in a while as well as making some new friends. All of you are welcome at our house anytime. Pictures should be posted sometime this week.
