Help

SportsCenter has been running this 50 States in 50 Days feature, which in itself is pretty cool. However, the stupid theme song is driving me crazy and they're only on like day 14. I may have to stop watching SporstCenter as I can't get the freaking song out of my head. For all of you that watch SportsCenter, I leave you with...... Life is an open road....

(If you weren't currently being tortured by the song, you're welcome)

Wow

Can it really be that long since I posted? Time has been flying by as usual. I've been working like a madman as well as trying to keep up with school, so I'm pretty much exhausted. Now I'm trying to think of what we've been up to over the last three weeks.

Deanna and I went to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last Saturday afternoon. I won't bore you with a long review as I'm sure most of you have already decided whether or not you'll see it and frankly, I'm not witty enough to make a review interesting. I'll leave it at this: It's a lot different, yet a lot the same as the original. I'm still trying to decide whether or not I liked Depp's portrayal. I'm putting the movie over in the coveted spot on the right hand pane, but it's for equal parts enjoyment of the movie and just needing to replace Sin City (still the best movie I've seen in a long time). You can also see that I'm now reading "Freakonomics", which has been praised (mainstream media) as well as received some backlash (crazy blog freaks) in the media. The jury is still out, but so far I've found the book to be pretty interesting. I'll post a more detailed analysis when I finish the book.

By the way, we're only 5 weeks away from the first CU football game of the season. Deanna couldn't be more excited......

(I just noticed that the blogger.com spellchecker doesn't know the word "blog". Does that seem odd to anyone else?)

Independence Day

For the Fourth, Deanna and I joined with J & K and the Allen quintet to attempt the Six Flags/Colorado Rapids combo. I was pretty skeptical of the idea due to the fact that I assumed that Six Flags would be packed for the day. This turned out to not be the case. We arrived at the park around 10:30 and the crowds were fairly small. We were able to ride the Mind Eraser, the Flying Coaster (twice), the raging river ride (soaked), and assorted others before lunch. The afternoon was a bit more crowded, but overall it wasn't bad. I hadn't been to Six Flags since it moved to downtown (only about 12 years ago), but I was pleasantly surprised (except for the Batman stunt show which was terrible). I don't know that I plan to go back anytime soon, but it was an enjoyable day. We headed over to the Rapids game and were treated to a fantastic match. It was only my second Rapids game ever, which is odd considering how much I like soccer. The fireworks after the game were great and we returned home around midnight. Needless to say, I'm dragging pretty badly this morning.
