Don't give into the dark side

I'm sure glad that Harriet Miers withdrew her Surpreme Court nomination today. I think there was something sinister afoot.

A month. It only took a month for someone to post a comment wondering why I haven't posted in a while. Nice. I'm surely attracting at least one person a day to the Ptarmigan.

Work has been ridiculous. School started. Deanna and I were out of town. You don't care about excuses, you just want action. Well, I'm back and lazier than ever.

Deanna and I were really out of town this past weekend as we ventured to the right coast (or left coast if you live in Canada and are looking down) to visit our nation's capital. The odd thing about this little vacation is that every time I told someone where we were going, they expected me to have a reason. Wedding... work.... being nominated to the Supreme Court... whatever. We had no reason, just wanted to take in the monuments and museums. Well, I'm happy to report that they are all still there. Also, my legs hurt. We did a crap load of walking and standing as we examined important stuff (if it's in a museum, it must be important). All in all we visited 6 museums, 4 monuments, a number of metro stations, and jeered at Bush as we walked past the White House (I'm sure he noticed us). You can't actually visit the White House anymore unless you have a big group, petition your Congress person, agree to a body cavity search, and give up your first born. I'm not sure why security is so tight, I'm sure Bush was on vacation anyway. All in all, we had a great time, hopefully I'll get some pictures up soon (doubtful).
